DNS Arrow scoops Altiris deal

Distributor beats off competition to become endpoint management software vendor's second UK distributor

DNS Arrow has bagged distribution rights for Symantec’s Altiris brand following a competitive tender process.

The distributor will now carry Altiris’s endpoint management software alongside incumbent Codework.

The appointment comes a year after Symantec snapped up Altiris in an $830m (£415m) move (CRN, 29 January, 2007). Symantec claims Altiris’s solutions, which enable firms to manage and service network-based endpoints, are used by nine out of ten Fortune 100 firms.

Matthew Molloy, Symantec business manager at DNS Arrow, said: “We can track our relationship with Symantec solutions back to Veritas storage products in 1999 and are delighted that the partnership continues to grow.

“The experienced Symantec team will support this opportunity and combine with an external sales team for full Altiris technical, quotes and sales training.”

Molley added: “The combination of Symantec and Altiris product suites will help businesses better enforce endpoint security policies - something we know there will be significant channel interest in.”

Jason Ellis, vice president of channel sales, Symantec EMEA adds: "We were certainly attracted by DNS Arrow's successful track record with over five hundred Symantec products but it was its willingness to pull together a dedicated sales and support team that really demonstrated the true value-add we were looking for in a distribution partner."
