Citrix posts fat profits
Thin-client vendor records 'solid performance' for 2005
Thin-client software vendor Citrix grew its fourth quarter turnover by 26 per cent to $269m and its full year turnover by 23 per cent to $909m, compared to the same periods last year.
The vendor's Q4 profit was $59m, compared to $52m in 2004, and its annual net profit for 2005 stood at $209m, compared to $162m the previous year.
"We finished a strong 2005 with a record fourth quarter. Solid performance across our products and regions drove record revenue for the company, excellent license growth and strong operating margin," said Mark Templeton, chief executive of Citrix.
In EMEA the vendor experienced a 16 per cent revenue increase and a global product license revenue increase of 23 per cent, compared to the fourth quarter of 2005. Citrix also generated $29m in online services revenue, an increase of 71 per cent year-over-year.
Revenue from license updates also grew by 18 per cent and technical services revenue, comprising of consulting, education and technical support, grew by 33 per cent, both compared to the fourth quarter of 2004.
Citrix also claimed that for its first fiscal quarter 2006, which ends on 31 March, net turnover will be in the range of $240m to $249m. It also claimed net turnover for its fiscal year 2006 will be in the region of $1.03bn to $1.06bn.
