Enta signs with Acer

Acer appoints Enta Technologies as a sub-distributor of its notebooks

Acer has strengthened its distribution channel with the appointment of Enta Technologies as a sub-distributor for its range of notebooks.

This latest partnership marks the end of a period of activity for the vendor in its distribution channel. Last month Acer signed an agreement with Micro Peripherals to help it gain greater penetration in the SME market. This came just weeks after signing VIP Computers to its distribution roster. Acer also ended a distribution agreement with Midwich.

Semmy Levit, UK country manager at Acer, told CRN: “Enta Technologies will be another strong partner with which to work. It will support our growth in the UK. Its vision and knowledge of the industry will help us gain customer breadth in the market.”

Levitt added that Acer would not be appointing any more distributors in the UK.

“We are happy with our distribution channel now,” he said.

Acer is currently the world’s fourth largest PC vendor according to recent research from analyst Gartner. It is topped only by Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo.

Jon Atherton, vice-president of Enta Technologies, said: “Acer boasts a wide brand recognition in the IT industry. We welcome the chance to increase our range and provide our customers with more choice and greater opportunities for a complete solution.”
