AV distributor seals deal with GB Labs in Amsterdam
Polar position: AV distributor well placed for education and pro-AV market with GB Labs deal
Professional audiovisual products distributor Polar Graphics has added a storage area networking (SAN) offering from UK vendor GB Labs to its portfolio.
Polar Graphics made the announcement around GB Lab’s Space offering at this week’s Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show, which serves the audiovisual industry, in Amsterdam.
Peter Rowsell, managing director at the Pinner-based distributor, said the deal was Europe-wide.
“Our years of experience in international markets tell us that Space is worth serious consideration by anyone in need of a shared storage system. Our dealers have repeatedly asked us for a product such as this,” he said.
Rowsell said that GB Labs had great technical expertise and was forward thinking. Polar Graphics had worked with them before on a number of UK installations.
Space’s SAN set-up supports RAID6 and 1G/bit or 10G/bit Ethernet and can work with any combination of Apple, Windows or Linux clients. Client software is not required as it has a browser-based interface.
The manufacturer believes its price is low enough for the education market as well as high-end AV.
