Lutris seeks new UK partners

Open source vendor launches EAS 4 beta

Open source software vendor Lutris Technologies is looking to recruit more UK channel partners. A specialist in open source application server software for the Java/XML platform, the firm has recently launched the beta version of its EAS 4 enterprise software.

Lutris claimed that the EAS platform has been designed to support the "growing community" of independent software vendors (ISVs), resellers and systems integrators in building Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) software.

"Because we have taken a modular approach to the enterprise application server, developers building applications on top of Lutris technology have the freedom to shape the server to their specific needs," said Graeme Allan, vice president for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Lutris.

"We are looking to be really aggressive in the J2EE marketplace, and we are hoping that ISVs and resellers will look at our technology," he added.

Allan confirmed that there will be no "rigorous accreditation": partners just need a "sound knowledge of the fundamentals of Java and J2EE architecture".

Financial software reseller Paremus is one of the first to sign up with Lutris. "With the EAS 4 server software we can play a leading part in bringing the benefits of the software to our customers," said Derek Baum, vice president of software engineering at Paremus.
