New Pegasus appointment

New Pegasus appointment

Financial software vendor Pegasus has appointed a new partner sales director for its UK and Ireland operations as part of plans to grow reseller numbers.

Kevin McCallum will now lead the Pegasus department responsible for managing and supporting channel partners. Back in May, bullish Pegasus announced the appointment of Nick Perry as its channel recruitment manager, in a strategic attempt to attack rival Sage and swell its channel ranks with an additional 40 partners (CRN, 31 May).

McCallum told CRN that his appointment would be pivotal to expanding the ranks of Pegasus’s resellers, which he said had grown by six partners in the past three months.

“This is very much part of our aims to grow our channel. We have never had anyone in this role before and this will help to further support our growing network of resellers,” he said.

Gary Turner, managing director of Pegasus, reaffirmed the benefits of the appointment to its channel partners.

“We remain totally focused on developing partner programmes that are designed to equip both Pegasus and our partners with the resources and direction required to significantly grow our common business,” he said.

Peter Joynson, regional managing director for the north east at Pegasus reseller TSG, said the appointment was positive, but denied that an expansion of Pegasus’s channel would increase sales competition.

“There are still plenty of market opportunities out there. So long as Pegasus appoints those with the right skills and in the right geographical regions, then there shouldn’t be too many problems,” he said.
