Exanet launches UK channel programme
NAS vendor appoints two new UK executives ahead of its first UK channel programme
NAS vendor Exanet is poised to launch its first UK channel programme and has appointed two new UK executives for support.
The firm, which counts Aberdeen University and the BBC among its customer base, will launch the programme in the next few weeks, according to Hugo Georlette, vice president of sales EME and Asia Pacific at Exanet.
“We are almost ready to launch with the partner scheme are just finalising the online portal where partners can get all the information they need on products and marketing.”
He added that The Exchange for Partners portal will have several different strands, one for each of Exanet’s partner types: OEM partners, ISVs and VARs and resellers.
“We now have enough partners on board to warrant a structured approach to our co-marketing funding. It will also make us look more professional,” Georlette said.
Exanet is not looking to aggressively recruit new partners, although it has recently signed deals with UK VARs Esteem and Positiv. “We want to be able to focus on each partner, and not have a region of vertical overlaps,” he added.
Nick Gosshawk, managing director at Digital Networks Europe, a partner of Exanet for the past seven months, welcomed the more structured approach to the channel. “This shows that Exanet is looking to broaden what it does, which can only be a good thing for resellers,” he said.
The vendor has also recruited Nick Holland as UK sales director and Andrew Cracknell as UK technical director. Holland was previously UK channel manager at Overland Storage and Cracknell has previously worked at EMC and DEC.
