Extended Ironport team on lookout for resellers

Security vendor takes on three new channel-focused members of staff to swell reseller ranks

Jamie Andrews: Our partner community may have suffered from our direct approach.

Vendor Ironport Systems has made three appointments to its UK channel team and is hoping to bolster its reseller ranks.
Jamie Andrews has joined from Buffalo Technology as UK partner manager, while Gemma Eadie arrives as channel development manager and James Lee is SMB and distribution manager.

Andrews told CRN that Ironport had some 60 accredited UK VARs with about 15 of those doing good business. He said he is hoping to grow that number to more than 30 and is on the lookout for VARs with public sector, financial and SME expertise.
“We have always had a direct approach and the partner community was possibly suffering,” he said.

Scott Nursten, managing director of reseller partner s2s, said: “We run Ironport’s content filtering gateway alongside other vendors and it is the best,” he said. “But some mails get through that a signature-based system would have cut out.”

Nick Garlick, managing director of Ironport Gold partner Nebulas Solutions Group, added: “Ironport’s recent channel investment has had a significant effect on our business.”
