Eastlake IP installation adds new Dimension
Dimension Data helps to reduce office solutions firm's communication costs
Integrator Dimension Data has helped office solutions firm Eastlake Group reduce communication costs by 30 per cent, following its recent IP install.
After a period of rapid growth, Eastlake outgrew both its office and its information infrastructure. The office solutions firm wanted an IT system that would deliver improved user productivity and provide support for the company’s ever-growing mobile workforce.
The system had to accommodate new technologies, such as videoconferencing and presence management.
Neil Louw, chief technology officer of Dimension Data UK, said: “Dimension Data provided the entire end-to-end solution, starting with Cat 6 cabling in the building, right through to the staff training on the Cisco IP handsets.”
Dimension Data had originally implemented Cisco Call Manager 4.0 when the Eastlake Group moved into new headquarters in 2004, but as part of the install it was upgraded to Cisco Unified Call Manager 5.0.
Mike Robinson, business development director of converged communications at Dimension Data, said: “We undertook a detailed assessment of the needs of Eastlake’s business and developed a bespoke solution that could be deployed rapidly.”
Louw said: “We are entering a new era with VoIP [voice over IP] and converged communications.”
Craig Worsley, IT manager at the Eastlake Group, said: “Dimension Data has had an immense impact on the operational efficiency of our company. The installation has allowed management of call spill so no customer calls are lost.
“There has been a consistent improvement in staff productivity. The provision of the corporate directory via the IP handset has also been invaluable.”
