CC finds £3m in search
Computacenter wins deal to manage Environment Agency's online property search service
Computacenter's (CC's) services arm has won a £3m deal to manage the Environment Agency's online property search service.
The managed web infrastructure, part of the agency's Property Search Project, replaces a paper-based service, and will cut search times in some cases from six weeks to two minutes.
David Price, programme manager at the Environment Agency, said: "By sourcing IT infrastructure skills and services from Computacenter, we focus our own people on developing a sophisticated search capability."
The service will be hosted from CC's Service Operations Centre (SOC), which has been vital to building the firm's managed services business. The system brings together environmental details from organisations to a single portal.
Colin Brown, sector director for government at CC, said: "The SOC has been vital to our managed services because it allows us to get economies of scale for remote sites."
The deal guarantees 99.97 uptime, coping with three million requests annually through a service level agreement.
