Avaya and Juniper join forces for new products
Vendors combine IP capabilities to offer four new solutions for their resellers
Avaya and Juniper Networks have partnered to provide new products to both sets of channel partners.
The vendors have combined Avaya’s IP telephony background with Juniper’s IP networking and security capability to provide a converged portfolio through the channel.
The relationship has produced four offerings: Distributed IP Telephony; Secure IP Telephony on Any Network; Virtual Contact Centre; and Enterprise Mobility.
Distributed IP Telephony provides secure communication for customers that require WAN to support voice, video and data across headquarters and branch offices.
Secure IP Telephony on Any Network offers security to end-users’ multi-vendor IP networks, while the Virtual Contact Centre connects contact centres with branch offices, home agents and head office locations. The Enterprise Mobility supports firms’ mobile workers with anytime applications.
Marco Massaro, EMEA convergence product development manager at Avaya, claimed vendors’ VARs and potential partners will benefit.
“We are working together on four basic solutions to provide an alternative to other competitive offerings. This is a new relationship in areas where the market is growing,” he said.
David Small, director of channels EMEA at Juniper Networks, said: “We are working to build a solid channel where both sets of VARs can provide a complete range. Customers who have all the router, voice and security applications in one place will feel the most benefit, because our partners can offer them the best solution.”
Kathleen Klasnic, lead analyst of vertical market technology at analyst firm Datamonitor, said: “It is a positive move and will give both vendors a greater range to build business with. Both Avaya and Juniper had to make this move to keep up with rivals.”
