McData opens up a Munich EBC
Storage vendor opens its second EMEA European Briefing Centre
Storage vendor McData has opened its second EMEA European Briefing Centre (EBC) to help channel partners showcase its products.
The Munich-based EBC, which opened last week, provides training facilities for both channel partners and end-users.
Jean-Jacques Effosse, EMEA channel manager at McData, told CRN: “This is intended for EMEA partners and we can use it for a range of purposes, such as building test platforms. Partners can also bring users here to show them McData kit in a real working environment.”
Daniel Sazbon, vice president of EMEA channels at McData, said: “The new EBC forms the ideal environment for training, certifications and test installations.”
McData claimed the EBC will allow a wide range of strategies to be showcased, such as how to deliver seamless data centre consolidation and migration, as well as how to enable new applications and services to be taken to market more quickly.
Effosse said that it was too early to tell exactly what the popularity of its Munich EBC would be, but he claimed that its established US EBC is used by its channel partners every day.
Perry Eeekhout, country manager at McData distributor Acal Storage Networking, said: “This will be of huge benefit to Acal. McData’s
European Briefing Centre will help many customers looking to get more out of their existing storage infrastructure.”
