W95 Lanalysis is a Novell idea

Software giant Novell has launched a version of Lanalyzer for Windows, its monitoring and analysis tool for troubleshooting Novell networks.

Lanalyzer for Windows 2.2 is aimed at providing access to network services from major client platforms such as Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. It is designed to run alongside other applications on Windows 95 workstations allowing multitasking to take place.

The product supports all existing Novell clients (VLM 16 and Client32) as well as Microsoft's NDIS. It also provides full support for Novell Directory Services.

Steve Rokov, product marketing manager at Novell, said: 'This version of Lanalyzer for Windows merges the power of high-end analysers with an easy to use interface.'

The improved performance of Lanalyzer 2.2 comes with Windows 95 using a 32-bit client environment and results in a 100 per cent capture rate on 10Mbps Ethernet and 16Mbps Token Ring segments.

Enhancements for this version of the product include an intuitive dashboard interface, intelligent problem solving capabilities and built-in interactive training in network diagnostic techniques.
