Spitfire service targets London

Reseller unveils number retention service

Spitfire has claimed an industry first with the launch of a new number retention service, which the reseller has attributed to high levels of customer demand.

The number retention service means firms in the Greater London area are able to retain their existing phone number even if they relocate from one side of London to the other.

Spitfire claimed it had not been possible to previously transfer a geographically specific number, but due to a change in policy by telecommunications watchdog Ofcom, Spitfire has become one of the first firms in the UK to offer this service.

Tom Fellowes, sales director of Spitfire, said: “This launch has been driven by customer demand. Every time we move a customer they asked to keep their number. It is staggering that users were previously unable to do this.”
