DSGi appoints new chief executive
Retail giant appoints former Tesco hotshot to group chief executive, following resignation last month
Following the resignation of John Clare, group chief executive at Dixons Stores Group (DSGi) on 31 May, the retail giant has appoint a new head, formerly at Tesco.
John Browett, will take over from Claire as group chief executive, he is currently operations development director at Tesco. Browett was also chief executive of Tesco.com.
Sir John Collins, chairman at DSGi, said in a statement: "I am very pleased that John has agreed to join DSG international. He brings a wealth of retailing experience to the Group from Tesco. His involvement in creating Tesco’s online operations and more recently in driving improved customer experience and operational efficiencies will ensure that DSG international can continue to capitalise on our strengths for the benefit of our customers, employees and shareholders."
Browett said: "I am delighted to be taking on the role. I am looking forward to getting to know the customers, staff and management team. We have some great opportunities ahead that will build on the strong positions that have been established within the UK, internationally and on the internet."
