Clive Hailstone has resurfaced in the channel as head of networking services at rival distributor Ingram Micro, after being made redundant by Computer 2000 (C2000).

“I worked at Ingram for 11 years before joining C2000,” Hailstone told CRN. “I have been in my new job for two weeks and my remit is to grow the business. I am keen to make sure Ingram is established properly as a viable competitor to Azlan and Westcon [in the networking market]."

“I ran the networking business at C2000 for a number of years and knew Cisco pretty well. One of my key goals is to grow our Cisco business.”

Asked about his former employer, Hailstone said: “C2000 is facing tough times. I have no doubt that Ingram will be keen to exploit some of the challenges that C2000 is facing.”

Steve Lockie, managing director of C2000, said: “All distributors, and the market in general, are facing challenging times. Ingram has its challenges, and so have we.”
