Bluesocket has 20:20 vision of partnerships

Wireless security and management vendor Bluesocket has launched its first partner programme

Wireless security and management vendor Bluesocket has launched its first partner programme and is looking to take on 20 new resellers by the end of the year.

The Bluesocket EMEA Channel Partner Programme divides partners into four categories: integration partner, business partner, distributor and knowledge partner.

Jim Calderbank, Bluesocket director of channels EMEA, said: “We have 20 accredited resellers in the UK but another 20 would be good.”

“The enterprise space is going to take off and the conversations we’re having with corporates have changed. They are no longer saying they don’t want to get into wireless: they’re telling us they want to, but don’t know how to do it securely.”

He added: “The opportunity to move into this space is right now, so we need to broaden our number of resellers. I want quality rather than quantity. I’m looking for resellers that are able to operate in the corporate space, who are aware of both the security market and the wireless market, as the two are coming together at a rate of knots.”

Bluesocket’s route to market in the UK is through a two-tier model, working with InTechnology as its sole distributor.

Greg Press, managing director of network infrastructure firm Icon, welcomed the partner programme.

“We’ve worked with Bluesocket for 18 months. If you’re selling secure products you need to provide resellers with the knowledge and the training. We have already signed up to the scheme,” he said.
