VARs get Care for Life
TallyGenicom rebrands partner programme
Printer vendor TallyGenicom has rebranded its Commission for Life partner programme to make it “more channel friendly”.
Launched last year, Commission for Life rewarded resellers with 10 per cent commission on all consumable sales for the entire life of a printer.
A parallel scheme aimed at customers was also launched called Care for Life. This ensured free onsite service, as long as the customer continued to purchase printer consumables from the TallyGenicom web site.
Following reseller feedback, TallyGenicom has decided to re-brand its Commission for Life programme as Care for Life.
Robin Edwardes, TallyGenicom’s senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, told CRN: “The majority of our VARs said they liked the programme but would like to be able to sell supplies too, so we decided to revamp the scheme. Previously, the end-user would buy the consumables from us through our web site, but now the dealers can offer the supplies themselves.”
Kevin Jones, managing director of printer VAR Printware, said: “We have been a TallyGenicom reseller for six years. It has always been a very trustworthy vendor, but there was always the feeling that we were giving away business to the vendor. We want the supplies business, so this revamp of the scheme is very welcome.”
