VARs wait for Relisys news
Administrator set to make an announcement in the next few days
The future of troubled monitor manufacturer Relisys was still uncertain as CRN went to press, but administrator PKF revealed it is set to make an announcement in the next few days.
Kerry Bailey, a representative of PKF, said in a statement: “The joint administrators have retained all staff pending discussions with numerous parties for the sale of the business and assets of the company. In this regard interest has been considerable.”
Philip Long, head of corporate recovery at PKF, told CRN that a “significant amount” was owed by Relisys, but he declined to reveal how much. Asked whether the monitor arm was likely to be sold, he said: “All options are open at the moment.”
PKF said it hoped to issue a further statement, in relation to the Relisys brand and sale of the company’s business and assets shortly.
Originally Relisys Digital, the audiovisual arm of Relisys, was said to be assuming warranty liabilities, but VARs have been unable to contact Relisys Digital (CRN, 30 January). Parent company Relitec Holdings said telephone lines were out of action until the discussions are completed.
Lee Baker, divisional manager at Relisys distributor Midwich, said: “We have been told that Relisys Digital has set up its warranty side. It is hoping to activate the warranty line as of today.”
Jon Atherton, vice-president of distributor Enta Group, told CRN: “We’ve had a lot of calls from VARs about the warranties.”
