Wild Things signs up Koch Media
Retail Cardiff gaming supplier sets distributor challenge of adding independent high street outlets to portfolio.
Games accessory and peripherals supplier Wild Things has signalledg independent high street outlets to portfolio. its intention to target independent retailers with its appointment of Koch Media as a distributor.
The Cardiff manufacturer is attempting to lure small independent PC retailers into its fold with the appointment of Koch Media to target the sector.
Koch's brief is to add independents to Wild Things' high street portfolio, which includes Electronics Boutique, HMV, Game and WH Smith.
Christopher Lambah, export director at Wild Things, said: 'We will still be going through Gem and Centresoft, but this move is spec-ifically for targeting the independent PC retailer. Koch Media will focus on that market. We plan to be aggressive with pricing and happy to pass margins on to the smaller PC retailer.'
Lambah added that the company's intention was to pass the same deals that were offered to the multiples on to the small retailers: 'There is no reason why a small PC retailer can't be a games retailer as well.'
Howard Jacobson, managing director of Wild Things, added: 'We intend to take advantage of Koch's field sales team, ensuring that we maintain a strong competitive advantage in the channel.'
Craig McNicol, commercial director of Koch Media, said: 'Wild Things' products represent innovation and design quality at a value-for-money price point. They also provide excellent margins for our dealers.'
Wild Things has developed and manufactured gaming peripherals across eight formats and specialises in accessories for Nintendo, Sony and PCs.
