EET gets a foothold in HP spare parts market
EET expands with launch of UK office
Pan-European spare parts distributor EET has launched a UK office as part of an expansion prompted by a relaxation in terms and conditions at its largest supplier, HP.
EET will become the seventh HP Authorised Part Partner (APP) operating in the UK, but has claimed
its superior size will give it the edge over local UK competitors, such as Westcoast, Chiltern IT Parts and Bits NPCs.
EET’s expansion was prompted by HP’s ruling earlier this year that APPs will be granted the status in every territory they enter.
Frederik Andersen, director of EET UK, which also partners with Lexmark, IBM and Lenovo, told CRN: “Some of the national APPs only do HP. We are a one-stop shop doing very large volumes, so customers can buy several large brands in one place.
“We can also add a lot of value to the reseller’s web site. We have a product finder that resellers
can integrate into their web site for free.”
Andersen said the distributor, which has a total of 250,000 part numbers on its system, would especially target HP Preferred Partners offering technical services, such as Computacenter, SCC, Logicalis and Morse.
Graham Nye, marketing director at Chiltern IT Parts, said: “We’re not too concerned by EET’s arrival. It will find that the UK market is more mature and competitive than it is used to.
“EET does not carry any stock in the UK and is a pile-them-high, sell-them-cheap company that will service firms buying purely on price.”
