Trustmarque saves millions
VAR helps public sector bodies cut costs in efficiency drive
In the money: Trustmarque has helped four public sector customers save over £11m
Trustmarque has claimed a victory in its drive to save money for its public sector customers.
The VAR recently carried out an internal customer audit which revealed four public sector organisations have already saved over £11m as part of Trustmarque’s Work Smart Cost Saving campaign.
Its campaign is designed to stretch budgets further to deliver optimum value on IT investments and it has identified six areas where public sector bodies can save money: managed licence services and Software Asset Management (SAM), infrastructure optimisation, storage and virtualisation, cloud, business intelligence and open source.
Angelo Di Ventura, group sales and marketing director at Trustmarque, said: “Public sector spending cuts mean that public sector IT departments are now under even greater pressure to cut costs and do more with less.
“Managed licence services and Software Asset Management are areas where, with the right knowledge, serious cost savings can be realised. Public sector organisations need to ensure they are not procuring any unnecessary licences, that they are fully utilising all the software they own and that they are not paying for needless support and maintenance.”
