IronPort gets Didata on side

Email security vendor announces strategic partnership with Cisco Gold partner

Email security vendor IronPort Systems has unveiled a strategic partnership with one of parent Cisco’s biggest partners, network integrator Dimension Data.

The partnership will focus on firms with over 10,000 heads and follows on from IronPort’s appointment of Cisco distributor Westcon Group in June (Channelweb, 20 June).

Jamie Andrews, channel manager at IronPort - which Cisco bought for $830m last year (Channelweb, 5 January, 2007) - said: "IronPort is committed to strengthening its channel presence in the UK and this deal is evidence of that commitment."

Alastair Broom, security line of business director at Cisco Gold partner Didata, said the partnership would “strengthen and complement” its existing relationship with Cisco.

"IronPort is a key player in the security space so this partnership allows us to broaden our security portfolio, while taking advantage of IronPort's profile,” he added.
