Net package unites Novell and Uunet

Uunet has joined forces with Novell to promote its business class leased line internet connections by bundling them with Intranetware.

The alliance, designed to give the networking giant?s Netware installed base an incentive to upgrade to Intranetware, will be the first corporate leased line package to be supplied through distributors CHS Electronics, Ingram Micro, Frontline and Persona.

Called Pipeware, it will be launched through an introductory product entitled Pipeware Express 64, which will allow resellers to offer a full intranet service with leased line installation for #1,750 plus 8.9p a Mb during peak times.

The full annual leased line package will cost #5,000.

Uunet UK channel manager Martin Temple said that the introductory offer would operate on a pure margin basis. From there, resellers would be encouraged to migrate their customers on to the full annual package, which would be operated on the usual Team Uunet commission basis.
