The Adventi Group calls in administrators

PriceWaterhouseCoopers confirms it has been tasked with finding a buyer for the the Scottish IT consultancy

Adventi called in adminstrators yesterday

Scottish IT consultancy The Adventi Group has gone into administration and called in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to oversee proceedings.

A representative of the company, which owns Scottish Apple reseller Scotsys, confirmed that the group went into administration yesterday, but declined to make any further comment.

Graham Frost from PwC, and his colleague Bruce Cartwright, are leading the administration and said their priority was on finding a buyer for Adventi and that the firm was continuing to trade.

He added that 22 of the company’s 44 staff had been made redundant and that there had been “great interest” in the firm already from prospective buyers.

Rival Scottish-based IT consultancy and reseller Purity IT, said the only inkling it had that the firm might be going under was the fact it had “dropped off the radar” in recent months.

Monique Goodwin, director at Purity IT, said: “Adventi has always received a lot of coverage in the press and done a lot of PR, but over the past six months to a year that has tailed off.

Goodwin added that Purity was reaching out to Adventi customers concerned about what the administration means to the support they are offered.

She added: “It is always unfortunate when any company goes into administration, especially when it results in job losses.”
