Frontline hits road to win hearts and minds
The company hopes to woo resellers by pitching its own roadshow event against those of its rivals
Frontline is turning the heat on competitors Ingram Micro and CHS Electronics, as the three distributors attempt to establish mind share within the reseller community over which roadshow to attend.
David Clark, Frontline commercial director, confirmed that the distributor would run its roadshow on three dates at the end of May. There will be an exhibition in the afternoon, with a barbecue in the evening. There is no cost for resellers to attend.
?There is definitely room for three shows because distributors generally don?t go out and talk to resellers. Being a distributor with a telesales operation, you lose that face-to-face contact,? said Clark.
He disputed suggestions that the only reason Frontline was running a roadshow was because Ingram and CHS have been doing so for a number of years.
Both Ingram and CHS run roadshows twice a year. Frontline failed to run a show last year but held one in 1995.
Clark said Frontline was committed to running one event a year, but that the format would be altered to accommodate market conditions.
Frontline Forum will be held on 19 May at Stratford-upon-Avon, 21 May at Windsor and 29 May at Doncaster.
