Club IT enters administration

Former HCI VAR owes creditors almost £100,000

Former Home Computing Initiative (HCI) VAR Club IT has entered administration owing creditors just under £100,000. This is despite the firm being one of the first to launch its own alternative HCI scheme last April.

Chartered accountancy firm McKeague Morgan was appointed as liquidator to Vision Business Solutions, which traded as Club IT.

A representative from McKeague Morgan told CRN: “Creditors are owed a total of £99, 519. A creditors meeting took place in December, but it is too early to determine if creditors will see any return.”

Martin Prescott, managing director of Red PC Services, one of the few remaining HCI survivors, said: “The Club IT offer came too soon after the demise of HCI. It was not sufficiently different to warrant mass take-up by already nervous employers.”
