Servium adds Toshiba to inner circle
Notebook specialist set to be a core partner of Paul Barlow's new mid market reseller
Barlow: We are being selective on who we work with
Toshiba will be one of just several key allies of newly formed reseller Servium after the two inked a partnership agreement.
Mid market-focused Servium was formed in January by channel veteran Paul Barlow and is gunning for sales of £10m in its first year.
Former Equanet managing director Barlow said that Toshiba will be one of Servium’s key hardware brands alongside HP, IBM and Dell after it secured Premier partner status with the notebook specialist.
“We are being selective on who we work with as it reflects on our brand,” he said.
“When you are providing services it is key to have a strong hardware platform to base it on, and Toshiba is one of the best and longest-established vendors.”
Barlow also revealed that Servium has built up an eight-strong team in Leatherhead to complement the northern office it inherited through its acquisition of IT Instore.
The VAR, which is focused on the above 200-seat market, has also hired former Computacenter man Stuart Dean to head the team.
“The first couple of months of the year have seen very strong sales and we are where we want to be,” Barlow added. “The southern office is firmly established.”
