Bell appoints McGregor to the Board

First task is to review all Bell's business units within its Enterprise division

Colin McGregor is now a member of Bell Micro's Board of Directors

Bell Micro has appointed Colin McGregor to its board of directors with immediate effect.

McGregor’s role will be to develop Bell’s product and services portfolio across all geographies and work towards broadening the distributor’s capabilities. His remit will be to focus on the European Enterprise part of the business including the UK Enterprise Sales team, the HP and Symantec division, Open Storage, the Security and Networking divisions and also Partner Services.

He has also been tasked with deepening existing partner relationships and forging new reseller relationships where necessary.

However, McGregor’s first priority in his new role will be to review the business units within the Enterprise division of the distributor to help Bell drive incremental business for both vendors and resellers.

John Toal, president of European operations at Bell, said in a statement: “I have worked with Colin for the past eight years and his proven track record gives me all the confidence that I need to know he will be successful in this new role. There is no doubt that his ideas and approach, combined with a very motivated team, will have a very positive impact on the Bell Micro business going forward.”

McGregor added: “Bell Micro has great breadth of customer base and a wide portfolio of vendor technologies to offer. The value our team brings to customers and vendors is the ability to expand the ‘share of wallet’ in areas that they may not be currently addressing.

"My key priority will be to drive this value proposition further to help partners maximise relationships within their existing focus areas and to also develop profitable business in new markets."
