Imago adds video performance boosters from IPeak
IP-based conferencing tools offer reduced packet loss for end users
Videoconferencing can prove hungry for bandwidth
Videocommunications distributor Imago has inked a deal with videoconferencing applications firm IPeak Networks.
Ian Vickerage, managing director of Imago Group, said IPeak products boost video and audioconferencing performance over IP-based networks.
“Previously, to achieve high-quality videoconferencing, customers had to spend hundreds or thousands of pounds per month on dedicated IP lines and specialist technology, but with IPeak they can use the public internet and a £750 IPeak network appliance instead,” Vickerage said.
End users may harness IPeak’s Internet Performance & Quality (IPQ) products, which are plug-and-play appliances that aim to reduce packet loss across congested lines by up to 95 per cent.
The first IPQ product on offer through the deal is an in-line device for multi-point network end points. It is designed to optimise traffic and ease connectivity.
Customers should be able to use existing public internet services with improved video and VoIP quality, Vickerage said.
The deal covers the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and South Africa.
