Datum goes on hunt for content control partners
Vendor announces plans to sign up additional resellers for its flagship KnowledgeWorker ECM software
Software vendor Datum International has launched a partner programme to recruit VARs for its flagship enterprise content management (ECM) offering.
Datum International’s ECM product, KnowledgeWorker, integrates with Microsoft Office and enables organisations to classify, capture, re-use, apply and search all of their stored information, according to the vendor.
Datum is looking for four types of partners: introductory, technical, OEM and distribution.
The vendor has already signed up five partners: Digital Workplace Systems, LSI Business Solutions, Key Systems, M4 Systems and Perivan, and is now looking to sign up a further 15 partners.
Trevor Cole, business development director at Datum , said: “Over the next 12 months we will recruit 15 IT companies who operate in focused areas.
“ECM is a horizontal product, but we are looking for partners who specialise in verticals such as housing, finance, manufacturing, distribution and transport.”
Cole added that ECM is a hot topic at the moment and there is a great opportunity for mid-market integrators to supply the technology.
“We support resellers through web seminars, we help them integrate products and they will also get training to support the KnowledgeWorker product,” Cole added.
David Webber, sales and marketing director at Datum partner LSI Business Solutions, said: “We have signed with Datum as a distribution partner. As a business we are a traditional reseller, but wanted a software distribution operation.”
Webber said that LSI had 22 VAR partners, but is continually looking to expand its partner network.
“When we met up with Datum International, its enthusiasm for its products was something that made us think we were on to something different,” Webber said. “From a product perspective, the Datum offering can scale from 20 users up to 1,000, which is rare for that type of product.”
