DataFort backs up recruitment drive
MSP hopes recruitment drive will boost sales of new off-site back up offering
Terman: We want to double VAR base
Managed services provider DataFort wants to double the size of its UK reseller base to drive the uptake of its new off-site backup service ByteBaq Professional.
For a fixed yearly fee, the service automatically backs up all the data stored on a workstation, laptop or server and secures it within an EU-compliant datacentre.
Marcie Terman, business development director at DataFort, revealed the company has 300 partners to help market the service, but hopes to double that figure by the end of the year.
“We are in the process of getting our existing resellers to sign a new channel agreement,” said Terman. “Once that is completed, we will work towards recruiting more.”
Patric Kinstrey, channel manager at DataFort, said the product offers good opportunities for extra margin and recurring revenue streams.
The company operates a one-tier channel model in the UK, but Terman said she would not say no to signing a distributor this year.
“With distribution, you need to have an offering that puts you on their radar and, with ByteBaq Professional, a few should start to take notice,” she said.
