Jcom lands CA accreditation

VAR becomes CA's first accredited ESP partner in the UK

Reseller Jcom has become the first accredited Computer Associates (CA) Enterprise Solution Provider (ESP) partner for CA storage products in the UK.

Jcom, which focuses on software and IT asset management, has worked with CA for 18 months, said Sean West, storage sales manager at the VAR.

“We had a relationship around software asset management, and we sold some of CA’s storage kit as well,” West told CRN. “Then CA bought iLumin, which is an email archiving vendor, and it fits in with our strategy. This gave CA an application in what is a massively growing sector.

“Archiving is a huge opportunity. All the major storage players are talking about Information Lifecycle Management, but to implement this properly you have to have good software. ILumin is strong in this space.”

West added that with the ESP accreditation, Jcom will be able to take advantage of this sector. “The ESP status will give us kudos both with customers and inside CA, and greater visibility in the marketplace,” he said.

Terry O’Loughlin, UK channel manager at CA, said: “The key goals of our ESP programme are to achieve CA and partner revenue goals, to improve competitive positioning and profitability of partners, and to offer

customers choice in an accred-ited scheme. Jcom has demonstrated that it has extensive delivery capabilities across a range of CA solutions.”
