A decade of Gates

Bill Gates will stay on as Microsoft CEO for 10 more years before letting someone else run the company. He told an audience at a speech in Singapore that he plans to remain at Microsoft and move to the development side of the business in 10 years' time, when a younger executive will handle the running of the world's biggest software company.

Gates also said Microsoft knows the computer industry was becoming more focused on the internet. The company is working on visual and voice recognition projects, including a car information system controlled by speech.
