Promethean to employ 100 at new Maidenhead office

Interactive learning vendor on recruitment drive as it gets set to open 8,000-square-foot office

R&D drive: Promethean's interactive learning technology in action

Promethean is opening a new office in Maidenhead in a move it said will create up to 100 jobs in the next three years.

The interactive learning vendor currently employs 900 staff globally but said the new 8,000-square-foot location will allow it to boost its sales and marketing and R&D clout.

The Blackburn-based firm is looking to fill key positions before the new office opens in August.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Promethean’s initial public offering in March.

Reggy Degen, head of group human capital, said: "The new Maidenhead office will provide the flexibility and geographical convenience that a global business requires and will benefit from the pool of talent that is located in the region, complementing our existing operations in the North West.

"Recruitment is already under way and we are delighted with the response received so far."

Maverick is Promethean's exclusive UK distributor and Europe director Jon Sidwick said: "Promethean's ambitious growth plans will put it in a very strong position to take market share from the competition."

Theresa May, home secretary and MP for Maidenhead, said: “I strongly welcome new investment in the Maidenhead area, and these new jobs will provide a timely boost. Maidenhead is a great place to work and it is important that we continue attracting successful businesses to the town. This is another vote of confidence to our local business community.”
