Trustmarque grabs Di Ventura for services push
Former Insight head tasked with spearheading Trustmarque's diversification strategy
Haddow: Angelo is a big hitter
Six months after exiting Insight Enterprises, Angelo Di Ventura has bounced back into the Microsoft large account reseller (LAR) channel at rival Trustmarque.
In his role as group sales and marketing director, Di Ventura has been tasked with spearheading Trustmarque’s transformation into a services-led firm.
Di Ventura has been on the sidelines since leaving Insight in December, as restrictive covenants temporarily prevented him from competing against his former employer.
Trustmarque chief executive Scott Haddow revealed the LAR is set to unveil a new services division on 1 August as it strives to diversify from its roots as a software licensing specialist. Four or five new heads will be recruited to support the move.
Haddow told CRN: “Angelo’s appointment signals our determination to transform this business from pure-play LAR with some consultancy into a much more dynamic services business.
“He took Insight from being a pure-play licensing firm through that same journey. It is a good fit for us and he is a real big hitter.”
Trustmarque's sales director Tim Dickens will stay on with the firm but will now look after strategic clients.
In a statement, Di Ventura – who begins his new role today – said: “Trustmarque is looking to make a complete change to its business model, moving from a transactional to a more value-based business. As we take Trustmarque through this journey we will be retraining our sales teams and evolving new messaging to enhance the Trustmarque brand. I am looking forward to and excited by the challenge ahead.”
