Nimans granted access to Avaya data kit

Salford distributor to take stock of vendor's high-end networking portfolio

Phil Adams: We expect more resellers to join us as we can now address all their voice and data requirements

Comms distributor Nimans is celebrating getting its hands on vendor's Avaya complete data portfolio.

The Mancunian firm has been distributing the vendor's voicewares since 2004. Last year Avaya opened up its entire portfolio to all its EMEA distributors. Around the same time, Nimans also obtained Diamond distributor status with the New Jersey-based vendor, allowing it to service the enterprise market.

Shortly afterwards, Avaya bought its way into the data market after snapping up fallen rival Nortel's Enterprise Solutions business for $900m (£540m). Nimans has now been granted access to the vendor's full complement of data-centric products, including switches, routers, gateways and firewalls.

The distributor's Avaya director Phil Adams said: “This is a major step forward for us and our customers. As convergence of voice and data continues to quicken, we expect more resellers to join us as we can now address all their voice and data requirements.”

Barry Tuffs, Avaya sales leader for medal partners added: “Avaya and Nimans have been working closely together for many years. Introducing our data products generates many opportunities for ourselves, Nimans and more importantly our customers.”
