Symantec wizards will work wonders for Java developers
Symantec is aiming its forthcoming Visual Cafe Pro development environment at developers seeking to create Java applets that are relational database-aware.
Visual Cafe Pro will provide wizards that help intranet developers create forms on top of existing database tables. It will also allow customer forms to be created by dragging and dropping fields from database forms.
The u479 product is expected to ship in December with a local relational database engine to get users up and running quickly. It also incorporates db Anywhere worksgroup server, which in turn supports Microsoft Access, MS SQL Server, Oracle and Sybase.
