Curtain goes up on Antec VIP deal
Distribution deal reached for Veris Multimedia Station
Ab=ntec will work with VIP Computer
Home theatre PC builders now have a new offering for customers after vendor Antec announced a distribution deal with Cheshire-based VIP Computer for its Veris Multimedia Station.
The computer components and peripherals distributor was chosen because it has good links with
the PC builder community, said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec.
The Veris range comprises four models, categorised as the E-Z, Basic, Elite and Premier products, which Antec claims will cover the complete range of budgets.
“When it comes to upgrading to a home theatre PC, people complain that the process is too complicated and expensive. The Multimedia Station makes that process easy and affordable,” said Scott.
“These four bundles have everything users need to convert their PC into a state-of-the-art multi-media centre.”
The selling point of the Veris range is that it is unpretentious and straightforward, argued Victoria Davies, VIP’s product manager. The Veris provides the hardware and software to transform any PC or laptop into an entertainment centre where users can navigate multimedia content without the use of a keyboard or mouse.
Entertainment seekers will be able to watch films, listen to music and view photos without needing an expensive stereo or DVD player, explained Davies.
A key selling point, given the explosion of digital content that most homes are slowly building up to, is a good media manager. The iMedian HD software could be a key asset, she added. The E-Z, being portable and lightweight, is billed as an ideal complement to laptops with its compact remote control for instant functionality.
“Home theatre PC sales are booming,” claimed Davies. “This solution from Antec is a perfect low-cost alternative, with all the benefits. The Veris range is an ideal add-on sale to any standard PC.”
