Dell highlights deal registration boom
Decrease in threshold has paid off, vendor claims
Over 70 per cent of submitted deals have been approved, Dell claims
Dell’s decision to lower its deal registration threshold in July has sparked a 30 per cent increase in registered deals and prompted its decision to slash it further last month, the vendor has revealed.
As exclusively revealed by ChannelWeb, in October Dell halved the threshold on its full range of PC, server and imaging products to £10,000.
This came on top of a reduction from £30,000 to £20,000 in July. Dell confirmed that its decision to repeat the move last month was prompted by increased uptake from partners.
Since July, deal registration volumes have risen by 30 per cent with over 70 per cent of submitted deals approved, Dell said.
Radek Kokot, acting Dell EMEA channel marketing & programmes director, said: “The feedback we’ve received from our partners following the earlier reduction in July has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Listening to our partners is a fundamental aspect of our PartnerDirect programme and they clearly indicated they would benefit from a further reduction in Deal registration. This now allows partners to receive the best offers at the best prices, ultimately increasing the satisfaction of their customers.”
Simon Grosse, Sales Director of Foundation IT, one of Dell’s key partners, comments: “Dell’s PartnerDirect programme has been instrumental in helping us sign off deals with customers across the UK. We believe this further lowering of the deal registration threshold will be very beneficial to us and also provides our customers with more choice and value.”
