European drive: Hitachi GST is expanding its reach with Tech Data partnership

Storage vendor Hitachi GST has expanded its distribution reach across EMEA following a partnership with broadliner Tech Data.

The deal covers Hitachi’s HDD and external storage offerings and is intended to give the EMEA channel increased access to Hitachi’s products, while boosting the vendor’s coverage and customer breadth in the region.

Products covered in the deal include Hitachi GST’s Travelstar, Deskstar, Ultrastar and CinemaStar ranges.

Nick Kyriacou, EMEA sales director at Hitachi GST, said: “It’s a very exciting time to be partnering with a broadline distributor such as Tech Data. The demand for hard disk drives and external storage solutions continues to grow among consumers, the IT sector and business enterprises.

“This agreement with Tech Data enables us to address the market growth opportunities across EMEA, and ensures that we are able to offer the European channel access to our broad range of solutions to meet these demands,” he added.

Janis Kemers, director of Tech Data International, said: “Tech Data is delighted to have formed a partnership with Hitachi GST, which as one of the world’s largest hard drive producers has a reputation for quality and reliability, offering a range of solutions that address a broad spectrum of markets from notebook and consumer PCs to the enterprise datacentre.

“This agreement significantly strengthens and expands our portfolio and will enable us to offer a comprehensive choice of storage solutions to customers throughout Europe,” Kemers said.
