Livedrive launches first reseller programme
Online backup vendor puts call out for smaller resellers and sole traders
Online backup vendor Livedrive has launched a reseller programme aimed at smaller VARs and sole traders.
The firm, which is backed by Fasthosts founder Andrew Michael, said the programme was set up to enable smaller channel firms to boost their profits.
Jamie Brown, general manager at Livedrive, said: “Fasthosts’ reseller programme was a big part of the company’s success, so launching one of our own is something that we have wanted to do for some time.”
He said the firm has had a lot of interest in the programme and has signed up 20 resellers since its launch earlier this month.
Livedrive accounts provide end users with unlimited storage space and bandwidth capacity, as well as remote access to backed-up files.
“We emailed our customers about the launch and flagged it up on our website, so the level of interest we have had from that alone is extremely promising,” said Brown.
The programme allows partners to sell unlimited numbers of Livedrive’s online back-up accounts at whatever price they choose for a small monthly fee.
Roland Sars, director of sales and marketing at rival vendor BackUpAgent, said: “Livedrive’s initiative and success shows that the market is demanding reliable and easy online backup solutions.”
