Softcat eyes 100 graduates for Moorgate office
Software VAR picks City of London location for capital outpost and targets hefty recruitment
London calling: Softcat has settled on Moorgate as the location for its premises in the capital
VAR Softcat is looking to staff its soon-to-opened office in Moorgate, in the City of London, with 100 graduates.
The software specialist first unveiled plans to set up a London outpost in March, and has now settled on a location in the square mile. Softcat aims to recruit 100 new graduates to work there over the next three years, where they will work alongside employees migrating from the firm's premises in Marlow and Manchester. The new additions will fill sales, account management and support roles.
Softcat managing director Martin Hellawell said: “London is one of the best places to recruit, so we have decided it is time to build a presence there. We are growing quickly because we attract the best people. And because we look after them well, they enjoy their work and help us to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. Having a presence in the capital, where thousands of bright graduates choose to live, will help to ensure this pattern continues.”
Earlier this year, the VAR was crowned the best small company to work for in the UK in the Sunday Times' yearly rundown of this country's top workplaces. The firm indicated that it intends to imbue its London digs with the same "positive and unusual culture" as its existing offices.
Benefits for new recruits will include student loan contributions, health and dental plans and a contributory company pension. Staff can also take a half-day holiday on their birthday, enjoy lunch at fancy restaurants and take part in other team-building activities. Top performers are rewarded with exotic holidays.
Shelley Ferrigno, recruitment manager at Softcat, said: “Our new recruits in London will enjoy all the same benefits as our current staff in Marlow and Manchester. We feel that our special ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos will make them want to stay and build a long-term career with us.”
