A sales engineer at two-factor authentication vendor Signify has broken the record for the longest pool match ever played.

Matt Ford played pool continuously for 55 hours and 40 seconds with a friend, smashing the current 53 hours and 25 minute record held by an American pair.

The charity challenge was held in the Grafton Shopping Centre in Cambridge

They were raising money for the Paul Hunter Foundation and Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust in Cambridge.

Dave Abraham, chief executive of Signify, said: “We are pleased that they have snatched the record from the US and raised a lot of money for two very worthwhile charities at the same time.”
