SpiriTel snaps up Nessco
Acquisition-hungry VAR buys out Scottish rival in £1.2m deal
SpiriTel has completed its 11th acquisition since 2006
Telephony reseller SpiriTelhas made its third acquisition of 2010 with the buyout of Scottish Mitel partner Nessco in a deal worth more than £1.5m.
SpiriTel has agreed to pay Nessco £1.2m on completion of the deal, plus an additional payout of £500,000 within the next 18 months, and a performance-related sum of up to £300,000 in November 2011.
The latest acquisition, the 11th the firm has made since 2006, is one of “strategic importance” said SpiriTel, and will enable the firm to cross-sell its solutions into Nessco’s 800-strong customer base.
Alastair Mills, chief executive at SpiriTel, said: "Nessco represents a rare asset, possessing an excellent customer base, a long and successful track record of IP telephony, specialising in Mitel solutions and supported by a highly skilled engineering team.”
He added that, following the acquisition of Welsh VAR Boucon Network Systems last month, the latest deal means it can now offer customers “genuine nationwide engineering coverage”.
Austin Davidson, managing director of Nessco said: "We are confident that SpiriTel represents a strong fit for both our staff and customers."
