Acronis adds Bell to distribution line-up
Backup and recovery software vendor wants bigger slice of SME pie
Backup and recovery software vendor Acronis has moved from two to three distributors in the UK after adding Bell Micro to its stable.
The vendor already works with storage distributor CMS Peripherals and open-source specialist Interactive Ideas.
The agreement with broadliner Bell, which boasts a European turnover of €1.2bn (£1.09bn), is designed to deepen Acronis's footprint in its core SME market. The distributor will carry its recently launched portfolio of disaster-recovery products, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
Mark Johnson, European software business unit manager at Bell Micro, said Acronis stood out due to its focus on the SME and mid-market space.
“It is one of the first vendors to provide a truly affordable deduplication solution, bringing a technology which has traditionally been reserved for large enterprises into the reach of smaller organisations,” he said.
Acronis, which claims to operate a 100 per cent indirect sales model, recently introduced an opportunity registration programme for its resellers.
David Blackman, general manager for northern Europe at Acronis, said: “Bell Micro is a well-established, successful distributor with a broad reach into the channel.”
