CCS Media celebrates £30m H1 milestone
VAR on track to hit £60m full-year target as it celebrates record six months
Terry Betts: What we do in the first half, we usually do in the second
VAR CCS Media has celebrated a record first half of the year with a 15 per cent leap in turnover.
The Derbyshire-based reseller, which employs 180 staff, hit sales of £30m for the first six months of the year, with profits up by 16.3 per cent. Its recently opened Warrington office hit sales of £600,000 in just five months.
Terry Betts, managing director of CCS Media, said: “I invested last year in staff and systems and we are going after market share. Although we are big in the industry, our market share is relatively small so we have plenty of room for growth. The great thing is that we grew across all areas of the business.”
CCS has also been doing a lot more work in services, according to Betts, and working closely with Dell.
“That is where a lot of growth is coming from,” he said.
Betts added that he has also restructured the management team so that directors are focused on particular product areas.
“Rather than having generalists at the top we are becoming more focused,” he said. “We are not just chasing turnover.”
He added that he was confident the firm would achieve £60m turnover by the end of its financial year.
“What we do in the first half, we usually do in the second and £60m this year is my goal,” he said, adding that the firm is always looking at new technology areas, in particular the cloud.
“That technology is coming and we are working on how we are going to deal with it.”
Betts said he would not rule out acquisition and is also keen to partner with other resellers to pool technology resources. He is also actively recruiting more staff including apprentices.
To celebrate its recent achievements, all 180 staff and a number of vendor/distributor partners were treated to a meal and evening out at the Belfrey Golf Club.
