Admit Contract Seeks to Limit Dealer Liability
Admit, the independent group of Pegasus accountancy software resellers, has assembled a model customer contract to try to reduce potential liabilities.
Colin Parnell, chairman of Leicester dealer Peg Associates, and a director of Admit, said: ?Resellers can be exposed to great risks if things go wrong. But many dealers don?t have the time or the money to consider huge issues such as professional indemnity. With Admit, resellers can address these issues in a cost-effective way.?
Pegasus CEO Jonathan Hubbard-Ford, said: ?I am very positive about Admit. Resellers can improve their businesses and proficiency by sharing views and jointly bearing legal costs.?
Admit represents 50 of Pegasus? 400 active resellers. The organisation was set up four years ago to lobby for the reinstatement of Hubbard-Ford, who was dismissed in 1992 after a boardroom row. After his return, the group expanded its remit to encompass training issues and inter-membership trading.
?In the early days, we were viewed with great suspicion by the Pegasus management, who had the impression we were a lot of whingers,? Parnell said. ?Since then we have moved on to a very constructive relationship with Pegasus.?
