Hauppage makes channel plans
Desktop TV vendor aiming to formalise its UK channel structure
Desktop TV vendor Hauppauge Digital is planning to formalise and bolster its UK channel structure, ahead of an expanded product push into the business sector.
Hauppauge’s products are currently sold through about 3,000 resellers in the UK. But it said it is continually looking to increase that number.
Although specific details of the partner programme are as yet undecided, the vendor told CRN that it will consist of three partner levels, and that a formalisation of its channel programme will enable its resellers to take advantage of the opportunities in the market.
Yehia Oweiss, vice-president of European sales at Hauppauge, said: “Resellers will see our products sold with many complementary products, such as hard drives and bigger screens. Resellers really should not ignore this sector and they should get into it early.”
Ben Leet, senior consultant at analyst firm Decision Tree Consulting, said: “My gut reaction is that it’s more consumer focused, and that outside of niche environments it may be difficult for the channel to convince businesses to take it onboard. But I’m not saying there’s no opportunity.”
