BrightStar tops up its mobile credit
Distributor embraces Credit Elevator scheme to offer mobile customers more financing options
Going up: Brightstar Europe's resellers can now join the Credit Elevator scheme
BrightStar Europe has stepped on board parent company Tech Data's Credit Elevator to help its mobile resellers boost their cash reserves.
According to the distributor, the deal will mean VARs with, say, £5,000 credit will be able to extend that to as much as £100,000 in manageable stages over the coming year.
It works by allowing resellers to increase the amount that is available for them to spend on their account each month in stages, by ensuring that they use 75 per cent of their agreed credit line and make payments within agreed terms by direct debit. If they meet the conditions, their credit line will be increased to the next level of the Elevator scheme.
The Credit Elevator has been in use at UK arm Computer 2000 for some time, and the distributor claims hundreds of resellers have used the scheme as a way to take advantage of the company's 'extensive financial resources'.
Tanny Price, UK managing director of Brightstar Europe, said: "The Credit Elevator gives smaller mobile dealers and retailers a very easy and accessible way to extend their credit in manageable stages and thus take advantage of the increase in demand that we are certain to see for smartphones and mobile data solutions, as growth returns to the market.
"It is yet another example of how Brightstar Europe is innovating and going the extra mile to make a real difference for its partners and customers," said Price.
